A GLOBAL sex robot franchise has signed an agreement to open its third venue in Europe as demand for the service continues to stimulate rapid growth of the business.
Lumidolls was founded in 2017 by a group by Spanish entrepreneurs from Barcelona seeking to capitalise on the expanding market for sex dolls and robots.
The opening of the first Lumidolls venue, just off Barcelona’s famous La Rambla boulevard in February 2017, marked the beginning of a new era for the sex industry.
A torrent of media coverage and customers meant that Lumidolls had to move venues to a more secluded location whose address was only revealed to paying customers.
At the end of April, Lumidolls opened a second franchise in Moscow after striking an agreement with Russian investors keen to export the brand to the city.
Two months on, Lumidolls co-founder and owner Sergi Prieto has told Daily Star Online of his plan to set up a third brothel in another European city within the next few weeks.
The brothel, whose location Sergi would not disclose, will be the third franchise opened by Lumidolls in just over 16 months as the company aims to expand “all around the world”.
Sergi, a former telecoms marketing executive, said a lucrative deal for the third Lumidolls sex doll bordello has already been struck with investors.
“We have an agreement already signed to open a third location in the next month,” he told Daily Star Online.
“I can’t tell you right now exactly where the brothel is based, but it’s a European country.
“I’m 90% sure the venue will be open at the end of July.”
“There is a big market that’s going to explode”Sergi Prieto
The 28-year-old said he has met with a number of investors to talk about launching venues in major cities across Europe and other continents.
Given the growing popularity of sex dolls and robots, he said the market looks set to be extremely lucrative if Lumdolls can become the most well-known brand.
If his plans come to fruition, sex robot brothels could be opening their doors to punters across the globe – from London and Paris, to New York and Beijing.
“We all trying to expand all around the world,” Sergi said.
“Our dream would be all the major cities in the world.
“This is a very new business – there are only half a dozen brothels around the world.

Sex doll brothels are becoming widespread across Europe, with known venues in Gateshead, England; Dortmund, Germany; Amsterdam, Holland; Vienna, Austria and France, Paris.
Nevertheless, Sergi believes his business has the upper hand given the success of his first two venues in Moscow and Barcelona.
He said: “We have been running this business for more than a year.
“We have venues in Barcelona and Moscow and will be opening a new venue in one month.
“I think that we are in a very strong position.”
At the Lumidolls brothel in Moscow, some of the “products” on offer are described as “sexbots” with “warm” skin, “mechanical movements” and an “artificial brain”.
Making predictions for the future, Sergi said the popularity of artificially intelligent sex robots at brothels and in homes will increase as technology becomes cheaper and more advanced.
“The demand will increase and increase and increase because the product will improve and improve and improve,” he said.
Sergi went on to cite claims made by Dr David Levy in his controversial 2007 book Love and Sex with Robots.
In the book, international chess master and AI philosopher Dr Levy claims that humans having sex with robots will be commonplace by 2050.Inside world's first sex doll brothel where men fulfil 'wildest fantasies' Peak inside this brothel where sex dolls are the main workers Lumidolls One of the bedrooms inside a sex doll brothel
Referencing the book, Sergi said: “There are claims that say in 2050, people will have more sex with robots than humans. This is just 30 years away.
“The dolls, for us, are the first step.
“They will improve until it becomes the norm.”
Sergi launched the business along with three other partners who "did not have any experience in this market”.
At Lumidolls venues, punters can pay around £67 for half an hour, or £83 for an hour, to get down and dirty with like-life dolls.
Each human-like doll costs around £4,373 to produce, is made of thermoplastic elastomer and has its own personality and attributes, according to Lumidolls.Related articles
